Gaztekugatxe

San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is one of the most impressive spots of the Basque Country. This peninsula is connected by a stone bridge, surrounded by the waters of teal-blue Cantabrian Sea. On the top of this island, you’ll see a chapel in honour to Saint John Baptist, originary from the 9th century. To reach the chapel, you will go through a journey of 241 stairs with stunning views on its path. Once at the hermitage don’t forget to ring the chapel’s bell three times and make your wish!
